Fat kid in a little body

So today was the day that we went in for our ultrasound and doctor appointment. Right now I am at 39 weeks and I was hoping that my body would have made some progress in the past week...especially with how crummy I have been feeling, how I haven't slept and all that fun stuff that people in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy get to go through. Not so lucky! My body is where it was last week and he is lower, but there is no dilation and I am still at 50% effaced. A little depressing, but not the end of the world. At the ultrasound, they measured the baby to see how big he is getting. We got to see his little organs and yes...he is definitely a boy! They started out measuring his head...average for 41 weeks. Then his belly...average for 41 weeks. His femur... right on schedule at 39 weeks. The approximate weight for him based off of the measurements...9 lbs 6 oz. I think hes gonna be a big boy! Hope that my body can handle it! I think I am going to have spencer strap a bag of potatoes or of flour to his belt so he can empathize with me, but he wants to see the little big guy just as much as I do. At this point, the doctor said the earliest day to induce him would be August 13. Please pray that he comes before then. He just keeps on growing and I think he is plenty big!

Fat Feet

I actually took a picture of my feet and i was going to post them, but it doesn't seem to be working on this computer right now. I guess that is ok. So another week has gone by and so has another Dr appt. Yesterday I went it and I was told that there is still not dilation, but I am getting around 50% effaced. That is progress so I am glad that I am not stuck going nowhere! The doctor said that if the baby has been progressing the same from the last ultrasound, then he is about 8 1/2 lbs. right now. I scheduled another ultrasound to measure the baby's weight for next week and if nothing else happens, then I will see what the Dr says next week. Its actually kinda funny because my contractions have been more intense lately and Spencer and I went to go see Batman on Friday night. For about 20-30 minutes I was feeling some strong contractions, but I was able to get through them well enough that I wasn't dying. I just needed to move around more. If I was going into labor, I wanted to finish that movie because I liked it. Guess it is a good thing that it was just Braxton Hicks.

No Progress

So I had my doctor's appointment yesterday. Still the same ol' news. The baby is stationed at -3 (whatever that means, I d0n't know) and my body is still right where it was before. I had a few more contractions this week, not just the uncomfortable feeling like the braxton hicks ones feel like, but acutal pain starting in my back and lasting a little longer and a whole heck of a lot more uncomfortable. The doctor didn't say much as to what that means, but just to keep track of things and see him next Tuesday. I guess it is not bad because I really haven't even packed my hospital bag yet and there are still a few things that I think I need. I guess we will see what all goes on between now and next week.

Baby Shower!

Well I said that I would get some pictures together from the shower and so here they are. I actually stole them from my sister's blog, but that is ok.

One thing that I have noticed since the baby shower is the fact that my belly is actually getting lower. I should find out exactly how much when I go to the doctor on Wednesday, so I will post more in that area when I find out.

In other news, Spencer finished his CNA class and is doing clinicals and taking a test this week. He is officially CPR certified and is excited to put his new medical skills to work. He already does by checking my blood pressure almost every day. I am glad that he can do this now because that is something that will really prove useful these next few weeks.

Progress???

Well it has been a little over a week since my last post and although I don't have any cute pictures to attach, I can at least say whats going on. So I had my Dr. Appt on Tuesday and he checked to see if my body was going anywhere with the baby. Not quite. Dr. Larkin said that right now he is the size of an average newborn so although we still have 3 1/2 weeks to go, its getting a little scary. He moves around a ton and every time that he does, I just imagine a little newborn rolling around. I can't imagine him much bigger than that. My next appointment should show more and at that point the Dr will see if I need another ultrasound to measure the little guy's head.
On another note, Spencer started his CNA class this week. It is really jam packed and he has been keeping busy and on his toes to get everything done. He has learned how to check my blood pressure and my pulse along with a few other things. I think it is cool. If all goes as planned, he will be back home and done with class and clinicals by next Thursday. From there, he will schedule his state test and hopefully get everything taken care of so we can just move forward.
Life is going good and I will keep everyone posted with info from the next doctor appt this wednesday.
