Chilly Mornings

So even though the temperatures are above average for this time of year in Salt Lake, the mornings get a little too cool for Will...or is Will too cool for the mornings?

He has also been dressing for both his mommy and daddy trying to pick favorites. This is mommys.

This is a daddy outfit. In anycase, he is really a cutie! Oh yeah, he weighs about 14 lbs now.
So as some of you may have heard, Aly was in the ER on Tuesday with Abdominal pains, but it nothing too bad. They ran an Ultrasound and a CT scan to look for problems with the gall bladder and appendix and the other organs, but there wasn't anything wrong with them. I am thinking it is an ulcer, but we don't know for sure. I will be following up with a primary MD this week to see what all is going on.
Spencer finished his week of Orientation for the hospital and has his first official day at the hospital this Sunday night from 11-7 and he should be working nights through the end of the year.

PS- was it just me or did Obama look like that skinny singing california rasin in the debate last night?

Ok, so he is not actually laughing in this picture.

Will has definitely been a handful these past few days. He gets really cranky and we don't know why. Most of the time, he is gassy, but other times he just wants attention and to know someone is there. I was cleaning around the house this morning and he was asleep for maybe 20 minutes when he woke up and cried for attention. I just talked to him as I was cleaning the floors and he kept on crying. When I was finished, I came and looked at him and he just looked at me and stopped crying (there were no tears, just yelling).

I managed to get a few cute pictures of him sleeping and then before I changed his diaper. He was reaching and holding on to the leg of the couch looking oh so cute, but every time that I had the camera ready, he just moved it fast and so I just took a few other shots of him.

Yesterday (Sunday) We dressed him up like a cute little man complete with a button up shirt and pants with shoes. Unfortunately, we didn't get a picture before church and he peed on his little outfit in the third hour and so we only have him with his shirt.

Oh yeah... I made homemade peach cobbler (everything from scratch) last night too. It tasted good!

So I got a little camera happy this week and decided to take a picture of Will at least once a day, sometimes more than that. First, there is the picture I was talking about before with the empty legs in his sleeper!

Then There are his little outfits that I dressed him in (all are 3-6 months and he fits them good)

He loves his mommy and doesn't mind wearing clothes that show it.

Red and blue are definitely his colors. He loves to sit in his little bouncer seat and watching the the bright colors

There are times when Will scrunches his face just enough to look like that old cartoon - Mr. Magoo and he almost does it in his little diaper picture.

The past few days we have had some fun dressing Will up in little outfits including shoes. He gained another pound and so he is wearing 3-6 months outfits these days. Some of them are huge on him and others fit him perfectly. His little jammies are still really big and it is so funny when he scrunches his legs up and they fit in the body part of the sleeper and the legs just hang here empty.

On another note, Spencer has officially been hired at the Huntsman Cancer hospital. He will be a CNA over there in the inpatient area. He actually had to choose between the University Hospital's cardiology department and the cancer center, and after about 24 hours of thinking about it, he made his choice. He starts on the 22nd, so wish him luck.

Just a day at the fair

So this week has certainly gone by fast and Will keeps on growing like a weed. It even looks like his clothes have started to shrink...either that or he has grown a little more. It has been so much fun to see his body just fill out and get a little chunkier. I had to take a few diaper pictures to show just how big his little body is getting. Every time that I blink, it seems like he is growing. He has been babbling a lot more and just listening to the different sounds that he can make.

Now... yesterday we went to the Utah State Fair. I have not been to a fair in years and so it was fun to see what all was there. We looked around at different displays throughout the grounds and ate some good food, including a funnel cake. Mmmm! We watched some white and orange tigers lounge around and just had a good time. Even will was awake for a while to enjoy the day.

On another note, Spencer starts work tomorrow at Sandy Regional Rehabilitation Clinic as a CNA and he interviewed for a few more positions through the University of Utah Hospital. On looks pretty promising and we should know about that one very soon.

One more thing that I want to say is that it seems like Will knows that he can make people laugh when he makes funny faces. While we were at the fair, he made some FUNNY faces and we could not stop laughing. When we did he looked at us and smiled and did it again. That little boy has got some personality!

12 pounds!

Well this week is justgoing by kinda slow and so I thought I would post a little blurb about what all is going on in the Larsen household. This morning, I got up and weighed myself after I got dressed and tipped the scales at 138.8. Then I got on the scale with Will to see how big he is getting and sure enough, he has grown. A whopping 12 pounds. He doesn't look real chunky. He has thunder thighs, but he is getting longer too.

He looks kinda like an oompa loompa with his little socks on today. He is starting to talk and babble a lot. While we were at the grocery store, he was just smiling and talking to his daddy. In just a few days he will be a month old. Crazy how time flies and he just grows and grows!

Family Reunion and Labor Day Weekend

Talk about being the coolest baby around!

This past weekend has certainly been a full one. Aly's whole family was up North here and we all got together at Raging Waters for a barbeque and get together. Will was the life of the party on Sunday when he was blessed in church. We didn't get any pictures on our camera, but I am sure they will appear soon on someone else's blog. Today we woke up hoping to go to the zoo, but we had to take a rain check as the weather was less than permitting. Instead, we dressed Will up in a cute little outfit made for cooler weather. He fell asleep on his daddy not too long after that.
