Pizza

Well this week was a pretty good one. I had an exciting moment come on Wednesday. At the beginning of the month, I sent in a recipe to KSL's Studio 5 program for a teriyaki chicken pizza. I found out on Wednesday that my recipe was selected in the top 5 to be featured on the show and I had to go to Pier 49 pizza in Cottonwood to make it for some judges and the camera crew. I was so excited and nervous. Well...I think that I botched it...pretty badly. I put twice as much sauce as I was supposed to and when there is too much sauce, it tastes a little gross. Well, you live you learn I guess. The show that features the pizza will air on Thursday October 30 at 11 am on Studio 5 on KSL 5 if anybody wants to watch it. Also, here is the recipe (with the right amount of sauce) if you want to make it.

Tasty Teriyaki Chicken Pizza

1 pizza crust
1 1/2 C Cooked chunked chicken
1 1/2 C Mozerella Cheese
3/4 C pineapple tidbits
3/4 C Mom's teriyaki sauce (see below)
1 1/2 Tbsp. cilantro

Put chicken in a bowl with the sauce and let it soak into the meat. Brush about 1/4 C. of the sauce onto the crust . Spread about 1 C cheese over the sauce before evenly spreading the chicken pieces over the cheese. Add pineapple and remaining cheese and drizzle about 1/4 - 1/2 Cup of sauce over the pizza. Sprinkle with cilantro and bake in 425 degree oven for 8-11 minutes. Enjoy.

Mom's Teriyaki Sauce
1 C soy sauce
1/2 C honey
1 C Sugar
1 Clove garlic (minced)
1/2 tsp ginger

bring to boil and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remaining sauce can be refridgerated.

Extra Extra Read all about it

Another week has passed by and a lot of cute little photo ops. Last sunday it snowed and so we bundled up Will so he was nice and warm. We put him on our bed while we finished getting ready and he cried for about 2 minutes before geting really quiet. He had fallen asleep and we couldn't help but take a picture of him.
He has also been enjoying bath time a lot more. Daddy was around last night and helped him get dried off.
That little boy really love his daddy. Especially when his dad takes him flying around the living room like in the picture below!



Now this little boy just made us smile so big today when he was all ready for church. He had a white button up shirt on with a blue striped sweater vest and black pants with some little blue shoes that were a little big on him, but they really finished his outfit. He managed to keep the same outfit on for the most part today. Besides a little wetness on his pants after sacrament meeting, he stayed clean and so he looked pretty sharp all day.
On the rest of our lives, not a whole lot is going on. We all have little colds and poor Will needs to have his nose cleaned all the time.
Spencer is really enjoying his job and the patients that he works with.
Aly has been at home a lot lately, but with the nice weather, she was able to take Will on little walks around the neighborhood.

Shots

Today Will went and ot his 2 month shots. It was so Sad! He looked at me with the "what are they doing to me" look. Ifelt so bad. Especially when his little face turned bright red and he was screaming!
After I got him dressed and into his carseat, he crashed. I was so relieved when he woke up a little later and was smiling like he usually does. So far, he has been happy for the most part besides an occasional grimace or cry.







Besides the pain of today, Will has been learninig and growing so much. He weighed in at 15 lbs 5 oz, and 24 1/2 inches long. I have been playing with him on a blanket on the floor. As I went in the other room to get his bath water ready, I came back to see that he had scooted off the blanket and rug and was making his way to the hardwood floor.


I had him on his tummy earlier today to see how well he coukd hold up his head and was surprised to see him raise it up a few inches and roll over onto his back. He only did it once, but he kept on lifting his head high whenever he was on his belly.

Our Little Bald Man

So we have been telling people that Will looks like an old man from the back, and we decided to see if he really does look old. We took some pictures and stuff for you all to see.

This evening after having a diaper change, getting a full stomach, and just feeling nice and happy, he decided his Mommy's head would be the perfect place to spit up. It looked like a seagull gunned her down.

Can you look at this boy and not smile? On Saturday he was just posing and letting me take lots of pictures of him.
He is such a long and big boy, that he takes up all the space on daddy's chest. They were both wiped out by Wednesday.
All work and no play makes Will a dull boy. We have one of those Bumbo chairs and he can almost sit himself up in it.


Now lately I have been feeling like getting creative in the kitchen. I make a teriyaki chicken pizza with Suzi on Tuesday...SO GOOD! And tonight I made a fresh peach pie. I have yet to taste it, but at least it looks nice!
