Independent Child

So I don't have any pictures to post, but I do have a few stories of the past 2 days in Will's world.  So yesterday he woke up early and would not go back to sleep, so we took him in our room and let him play on the floor for a few minutes.  I was getting up and he was starting to get into the items on my nightstand.  He managed to get a big bottle of ibuproufen and shook it up a little.  Then he turned the bottle upside down and hit it a few times on the nightstand.  He pushed it down and I guess he turned it just enough that all of the sudden, little pills started pouring out.  We picked him up right away and cleaned up.  We were so surprised to see how a 10 month old could open a child proof bottle.
Next item of independence.  Will woke up REALLY early once again and wouldn't let me sleep.  I finally got him back to sleep and couldn't fall back asleep myself.  So we got up a little later and came into the messy living room.  Spence left his church shoes by the couch and it was so funny to look over and see Will put his little feet inside his daddy's shoes and look at me with a huge grin.  I took a picture on my phone, but still need to get a card reader so that I can put those pictures on the computer.
A short time later I left Will in the living room and went to the bedroom.  I heard my phone ring, but didn't go to answer it.  Then I thought I heard a lady's voice and I came into the living room.  I looked at Will playing with my phone and I realized that I should check the call log. He had managed to call one of the phones at the house (the one I heard ringing) and also the bank.  I don't know how he figures these things out, but he does. From that point, he managed to pull my laptop down from the fireplace (only like a 8 inch drop).  He about knocked the dvd player off its shelf in the TV stand, and started pulling DVDs out of our DVD tower.  By this point I am feeling like "WOW I Really need to baby proof the house.
The last thing happened just after I finished cleaning the living room floor.  I put Roxy in her crate to make my job a little easier.  When I was done, I sat on the couch and watched Will cruise from the middle of the couch to the crate where I watched him unlatch the door on the crate and open it up for Roxy to get out.  How does this kid figure these things out.
Needless to say, I have started doing things to keep my little explorer out of trouble while I start baby-proofing.  He has spent a chunk of the day in what I call his little prison cell  ( his little playpen).  He hasn't been real happy about that.

Funny, funny little boy... yep, little boys get into ALL kinds of things to try figuring them out. You've got your hands full with that little guy. And yup, gotta child-proof the house now. Too cute, Aly. Gotta love these moments!
